Whether you’re a Mac or PC user, I sure hope you aren’t still using Internet Explorer to browse the web. Not only (imo) is IE not as secure, but it’s lacking in features as well. With options like Firefox and Safari available, you’d be missing out on a lot by not leveraging these free web browsers that can truly enhance your browsing experience as well as give you access to literally hundreds of plugins to make your web experience that much better.

With the new iPhone 3gs being released this week, you might not be so lucky to play with the latest Apple technology, but if you have a PC or a Mac, take a look at the 150 features that Safari 4 boasts. Personally, I’m a hard core Firefox user, but I’d love to hear which browser you use daily and why…

What’s your favorite browser?

  1. I was using FF 2 on my old XP box and then made the mistake of upgrading to FF 3 that old hardware couldn’t keep up so I switched to Safari for a while. Safari on the PC was great! Didn’t crash as much as Chrome or FF. I switched to a Mac late in ‘08 and now I run FF 3 oddly enough. Seems to work great. I can count crashes since I’ve had the computer on less than one hand. Unfortunately I still need to run IE in a VM because my local MLS uses Rapattoni which only works in IE 6 or later. I really wish they’d change that. If they did, I’d never have a reason to use IE. FF left IE in the dust when they adopted tabbed browsing.

Thanks for the detailed use of what you’re using Geordy! It really bothers me with some sites only support IE and not other modern browsers. I remember that the ADP payroll site only allow use of IE – it really bothered me considering IE is less secure than FF or Safari but a Payroll company required the use of IE :)
